Context
Finsly is our in-house product — a SaaS we built and keep developing ourselves. We describe it as an operating system for your finances: one place where both personal and business money live. The app is live and you can see it for yourself at finsly.bearly.pro, in two flavours — Personal and Business.
We built Finsly for people who want to know where they actually stand, not just glance at a balance after the fact. For the freelancer whose invoice income blurs into personal spending. For the small company juggling a few accounts and a Revolut card. For anyone saving toward a specific goal who wants to see whether they’re really getting there. In short — for anyone with more than one account and less than unlimited time to keep an eye on all of them.
Finsly is also a proving ground for us. It’s on our own product that we test how to weave AI into a daily workflow in a way that makes sense — following the principle we repeat to clients: AI should support the product, not replace thinking.
Problem
Managing your finances rarely fails for lack of tools. It fails because there are too many of them and none sees the whole picture.
The usual setup looks like this:
- a spreadsheet that was accurate three months ago,
- one bank app for one account and a separate one for another,
- Revolut holding your travel spending,
- a stack of receipts and invoices waiting to be typed up,
- and, on the side, a loose attempt at saving “for later”.
Each of these shows a fragment. Nowhere do you see the full view: what’s actually left at the end of the month, where the money leaks out, whether that goal is within reach, what your net worth looks like once everything is added up. Stitching those fragments together by hand is tedious, always a step behind, and error-prone — and without the full picture, financial decisions come down to gut feel.
What’s missing is a single tool that ties three things together at once: planning (budgets, goals), analysis (what’s actually happening with the money) and decision support (what to do about it). That’s exactly the gap Finsly closes.
Solution
Finsly brings your finances into one system and adds a layer of AI where it genuinely saves time.
Document scanning (OCR). Snap or upload receipts, invoices and statements — Finsly reads the data and categorizes transactions automatically. No more manual re-typing.
Multi-account aggregation. Personal and business accounts in one view, synced in real time. One screen instead of five tabs.
Savings goals. Progress visualisation, a touch of gamification, and AI-driven optimisation — so saving toward a goal is visible and concrete, not an abstract “someday”.
AI assistant. Ask about your finances in plain language — “how much did I spend on food this month?”, “can I afford this?” — and the assistant analyses your spending and suggests a budget. Add forecasts and predictions that show where you’re heading at your current pace.
Analytics. Net worth, ROI, income and expense reports, spending broken down by category — the full picture in numbers.
It all hangs together through integrations: Stripe, bank APIs, Revolut, crypto, Excel and webhooks, running on AWS infrastructure with product analytics in Mixpanel.
What matters most to us is AI you can trust and a fair deal on data. With Finsly:
- you log in without ever handing over your banking passwords,
- your data is encrypted,
- and your data is never used to train AI models.
In a product that touches money, trust isn’t a marketing add-on — it’s the price of entry. So we treat it as a feature, not a footnote in the terms of service.
Under the hood sits a stack we know inside out: Nuxt 4, Node.js and Express.
Outcome
The most important outcome is a qualitative one: everything in one place. Instead of a spreadsheet and a handful of separate apps, the user gets a single system where OCR, categorization, the AI assistant and forecasts work together and see the same, complete financial picture.
- Less manual work — documents scan and categorize themselves; accounts gather into a single view.
- Decisions based on data, not gut feel — analytics and the AI assistant answer “how much”, “on what” and “can I afford it” from real numbers.
- Trust built into the product — passwordless login and the rule that data never trains AI are the foundation we build the rest on.
For us, Finsly is also proof that we can take an in-house SaaS from idea to a live application — with AI, payment and banking integrations, and a stance on privacy we’re happy to use ourselves. See for yourself: finsly.bearly.pro.
